About Me

My photo
I'm a Theatre education major at Texas A&M University-Commerce. I want to teach theatre (if you couldn't tell from my major) either at the High School or University level. The best thing is being on stage and performing. It is an amazing experience every time. I'm the Director of the University's Improv Comedy troupe, Cricket City Improv. I also do a little stand-up/sit-down comedy (forgive my wheelchair humor). I love meeting new people so if I don't know you don't be afraid to talk to me. I'm not too weird.

Microsoft Publisher: Resume and Brochure

- Please tell me how thing went and how you felt about the activities. Please feel free to give suggestions.

I enjoyed the activity and the process of producing the documents. It is good to have the knowledge of how to do these things because the more professional that you present yourself the better the likelihood of you getting the job.

- How did you feel about creating a brochure this week?

I thought that it is a useful thing to have. I plan to use such a thing when I begin teaching to make students and parents aware of what I plan to do and what my qualifications are. This will hopefully make both feel more comfortable.

- Is there any muddy point that you need to review?

At this point everything seemed clear to me. I should work a bit more on placing more credentials on the brochure and the resume to make myself look more worthy of a position.

- How do you feel about Desktop Publishing? We have created a brochure and a resume. What else do you think we can do with Desktop Publishing? If you have to create one thing for your classroom, what would you create by using Publishing and why?

I think that it is a great program. The templates are really helpful and give you a guideline to use along with allowing you to stray away from it and make it your own. I think a teacher could do many things with this program. Creating overviews of assignments to come. Progress reports to go home to parents with information about what is coming up next in the classroom. I could use it as a theatre teacher by creating programs and posters to advertise any performances we may have. It is a great tool that I plan to use more of in the future.
